The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 26, 1984
James Wesley Oades, 76, a life-long resident of The Dalles, died Thursday at 
Mid-Columbia Medical Center.

Mr. Oades was born Oct. 27, 1907 in The Dalles, and farmed in the area until 
he retired.

He is survived by his wife Echo Oades, The Dalles; three sons:  Eugene Oades, 
Renton, Wash.; Dean Oades, The Dalles; and John Oades, Portland; a daughter, 
Alice Oades, Kennewick, Wash.; seven grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren; three sisters:  Carrie Wagenblast, The Dalles; Bessie Priebus, 
Scappoose; and Mary Wasson, The Dalles; one brother, Ralph Oades, Portland; 
nieces and nephews.

No public funeral service was held.  Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was 
in charge of arrangements.
