Norris, 95, died at a local nursing home Aug. 31. He was a resident of The Dalles since 1944, formerly of Kinzua and Condon. Mr. Norris was born Dec. 24, 1892 in Ashville, N. Car. He moved to Endicott, Wash., as a youngster, and joined the Army during World War I. Later, he worked in Sherman and Gilliam counties as a farm laborer. In the mid 1920s, he worked at the Kinzua Mills until moving to The Dalles, where he worked for Sunset Motors until retirement. After retirement, he worked at Brady's Grocery for several years and then did pick up work for the Goodwill store. He was a professional wrestling fan, and sold tickets and did maintenance for wrestling events. No public funeral services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, in care of Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
