The Dalles Weekly Reminder, Sepetember 15, 1995
     Margaret Phylinda Myers, 96, a lifelong resident of Wasco County, died 
Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1995 at a local care center.
     She was born Feb. 7, 1899 to Bion and Sadie (Means) Hazen at Pleasant 
Ridge where she attended school.  She married David Jones in 1918.
     She always considered herself an "outside girl" and enjoyed caring for 
livestock and horses, tending gardens and farming wheat with her husband at 
Pleasant Ridge and Tygh Ridge.  They moved to The Dalles in 1936.  She was 
preceded in death by her husband, David in 1955.
     She later married Orin Myers, who died in 1975.
     She is survived by her son, Robert R. Jones of Hemet, Calif.; nephews:  
Lester Hazen of Everett, Wash. and David Hazen of Portland; niece, Geneva 
Moore of Coos Bay.
     At the family's request, no public services were held.  Interment was at 
Parklawn Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Memories.
     Memorials:  American Heart Association in care of Smith Callaway Chapel.
