The Dalles Chronicle, January 12, 2005
     Karen Murray, 61, a former resident of Maupin, died in a Portland 
hospital on Jan. 6, 2005.
     She was born in The Dalles on Jan. 24, 1943 and graduated from Maupin 
High School in 1961. She then attended two years of business college in 
Portland.
     She worked as a dental assistant for several years and then worked at 
several large businesses as a bookkeeper until she had to leave because of 
health problems.
     Survivors include a son, Matt Tidyman and daughter Tracey Tidyman, 
Vancouver; her father, Carl Barnett, Maupin; and sisters, Pam Duncan, Sandy 
and Karletta Carrithers, Maupin.
     She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Helen Barnett.
     A memorial service will be held at Maupin Community Church at 1 p.m. on 
Saturday, Jan. 15.
     Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), 4800 
S.W. Macadam Ave., Suite 205, Portland, OR 97239.
