He was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Minneapolis, Minn., and raised by his maternal aunt, Gerda and her husband, Hiram V. Munson in Detroit Lakes, Minn. He attended Lincoln Grade School and Detroit Lakes High School. He played in the high school band and was very involved in sports and the basketball team. He moved to Portland in 1942 and completed his senior year of 1942 and 1943 at Jefferson High School. He was drafted in July 1943 and entered the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class. He served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged in December 1945 and returned to Portland attending Vanport College. Lee worked at Olds & Kings Department Store and left college to work at Robert Hall Clothing Store as the manager. He later opened another of their stores at the Lloyd Center. He married in 1952 and later they moved to Southern California where he managed a clothing store. After several years, he returned to Portland and spent 28 years in the insurance business until his retirement. He divorced and lived in Portland, Tigard and the last several years in The Dalles at a care facility. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Riordan and her husband, Jon, Florida; his son, Scott Brown and his wife, Denise, and three grandsons, all of Indiana; his sister, Vivian Hanson-Krueger and her husband, Fredric, Portland; one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Terri Lee. At his request, no services will be held. Cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Inurnment of his cremated remains will be held at a later date at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
