The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 24, 1987
Rhoda Louise Mortimer, 88, died July 20 in a local nursing home.  She was a 
resident of The Dalles since 1977.

Mrs. Mortimer was born in Bath, Maine Oct. 30, 1898.  She was a member of the 
Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Louise Peterman of The Dalles, Mrs. 
Viola Bourland of The Dalles, Mrs. Imogene Smith of Tillamook and Mrs. Naomi 
Zesiger of Nampa, Idaho; a son, Walter Mortimer of Oregon City; 19 
grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; one 
brother Charles Paull of The Dalles; two sisters, Grace Straight of Portland 
and Emily Baker of Massachusetts.

Graveside funeral services were held at The Dalles Odd Fellows Cemetery 
officiated by Rev. Byron Clark.  Memorials are suggested to the American 
Cancer Society.  Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of 
arrangements.
