He was born on March 29, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., the third of five children to Herbert William and Elizabeth Pauline (Kreisman) Morrow. He lived in Kansas City until age six when his family moved to Portland. He attended David Douglas High School in Portland, then entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1969 and served in combat in Viet Nam. He left the Marines as a reservist on March 4, 1975. After the service, he lived and worked as a cabinetmaker in the Portland area. In the late 1970's, he went to work at his father's Texaco Service Station at 122nd and Foster Road and later purchased the business. In the 1980s, he moved to Pine Grove and purchased the Red Rooster Cafe and several years later went to work for the ODOT Highway maintenance until the late 1990s. He then sold cars at Thomas Motors in The Dalles until becoming a truck driver for Swift Company and Art Braun Trucking of The Dalles. He enjoyed collecting and working on cars and hot rods, drag racing, woodworking, cabinet making and home remodeling. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Richard and Tia Morrow and their children, Megan, Mercedes, Mallory and McKenzie, Lyle, Wash.; Tami and Chad McDonald and their children, Chance and Teneille, Tygh Valley, and Mandi and Dax Logsdon and their children, Azure and twins, Raif and Cloe, Kennewick, Wash.; his mother, Betty, of Portland; his siblings, Sharon Appel, Oysterville, Wash.; Renae McDonald and Valerie Morrow, Portland; and his former wife of 27 years, Wanda MaryEtta Olson, The Dalles. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert and a brother, Dick Morrow. Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home from 2 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Christian Community Church with Pastor David Clear officiating. Private interment services with Marine rites will be held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery on Three Mile Road. Remembrances may be made to Mid Columbia Veteran's Memorial at Sorosis Park, PO Box 991, The Dalles, OR 97058.
