She was born May 3, 1906 at home on the family wheat ranch in Mayville, the first of three daughters to Frank Miller and Lula (Lewellen) Shaw. She grew up in the Mayville and Condon areas until 1918 when the family moved to Portland. She married Jasper S. Reed in 1929. He died in 1944 and she married George Girod Morris on Sept. 9, 1946. They made their first home in John Day where her husband had a dental practice. He died in June 2001. She was a member of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and became very fond of raising and riding horses. She was also fond of dogs, and raised Boston Bull dogs in the 1930’s. Her dearest canine companion was “Aussie Girl,” her Australian Shepherd. She continued her love of animals the rest of her life and was a member of various animal associations including Fort Dalles Riders, in which she participated in horse shows into her late years. She will be remembered for her sentimental heart and her great apple pie. She is survived by her daughter, Georga Del Foster and her husband, Douglas, The Dalles; grandsons, Aaron Foster and his wife, Diane, Tualatin; and Jacob Foster, Portland; great-grandson, Logan Foster, Tualatin; her sister, Agnes L. Hall and her niece, Sharon Beddewii, both of LaCanada, Calif. Private entombment will be held at The Dalles Odd Fellows Memorial Mausoleum on Saturday, April 23. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
