He was born Jan. 3, 1920 in New London, Ohio, the youngest of five children to Henry and Carrie Moore. He grew up and attended school in New London. During World War II he served four years in the Army Air Corps as a flight engineer. After the war he married Merylene Channell on Aug. 21, 1948. Together they raised three sons and started M-K Drilling Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gold mining and RV travel across the country. Survivors include his wife, Merylene; his sons and daughters-in-law, Karl Jr. and Pam, Dallesport; Charles and Lana, Lyle; and Joe and Edna, The Dalles; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a nephew, Gary Gieser, Tacoma, and a niece, Karen Gilchrist of Denver, Colo. Disposition was by cremation. A memorial service will be held on June 19 at the family home. Memorials may be made to the Lyle School, P.O. Box 368, Lyle.
