Moore, a lifelong resident of Moro, died at his home April 23 at the age of 56. Mr. Moore was born June 9, 1931. A graduate of Lewis and Clark College, Mr. Moore married his wife Millie in 1956. He was a member of the Moro Presbyterian Church and a member and former chairman of the Sherman County Club. He served on the South Sherman Budget Board and was a member of the Sherman County Historical Society and the Chris Schultz American Legion. In addition, he served on the Rural Advisory Council and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served in the U.S. Army. He was a wheat rancher in Sherman County. He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Millie) Moore; son, David John Moore, Moro; daughter Julie Anne Moore, The Dalles; and mother, Dorothea Moore, Moro; three grandchildren, two aunts and two uncles. His fathr, Collis P. Moore died in 1976. Memorial services were held April 27 at the Moro Community Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Crislip officiating. Donations are suggested to the Sherman County Historical Museum c/o Patti Moore of Moro, or the Moro Community Presbyterian Church. Smith-Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
