The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 29, 1982
     Robert E. Montgomery, 68, a resident of The Dalles since 1949, died Jan. 
22 at the hospital.
     He was born July 25, 1913 at King Hill Idaho.
     He was a machinist for Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years.  He was also 
a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and The Dalles Eagles Lodge.
     Survivors include his wife, Adeline, The Dalles; a son, Douglas Bliss, 
Troutdale; two granddaughters; and a sister, Lucy Freties, The Dalles.
     Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Richard Simpson officiating.  Private entombment was at 
Riverview Abby Mausoleum in Portland.
