Monner, 84, a former resident of Maupin (Oregon) and resident of The Dalles, died on December 7, 2002. He was born on August 16, 1918 in Agency Plains (Oregon). He served in the Army from February 6, 1942 to October 20, 1945. He was stationed in Europe where he met his future wife, Elizabeth, in London (England) They were married in 1950. She died earlier this year. He worked for the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) from 1966 until his retirement in 1984 and maintained parks on the Deschutes River. He lived in Maupin until moving to The Dalles in 1984. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include daughters Maureen McAtee, Fairview (Oregon), and Cindy Siler, Spokane (Washington); a son, Tony Monner, The Dalles; a granddaughter, Sara Siler, Spokane; a grandson, Brandon Siler, Spokane; and a great-granddaughter, Shannon Sullivan, Spokane.
