He was born March 12, 1929, in Ravenswood, Calif., the oldest of five children to George T. and Bertha Matilda (Keyser) Mohun. He was raised in Redwood City, Calif., graduated from Sequoia High School, served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, joined the U.S. Marines and served in Korea. He returned to the Redwood City area and worked as a tool and die machinist and was a member of the Santa Clara Rose Society, Elks and V.F.W. lodges. He is survived by his children, Robin Mohun, Sunnyvale, Calif.; Kim and her husband, Jerry McMillan, Tempe, Ariz.; George T. Mohun, Hood River; grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary Mohun, both of Hood River; sister, Donna Mae Dole, Olympia, and brother, Robert Mohun, Redwood City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynnita Lu De Jean, in 1985. Funeral services will be held at the Woodside Chapel of Crippen and Flynn Funeral Home in Redwood City on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 11 a.m.. Interment will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, Calif. Smith Callaway Chapel is in care of local arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hood River V.F.W. Lodge.
