Wakley iwakley@msn.com and June 18, 2006, 2:10 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, Feb 5, 1982 Wiliford G. Moe, 66, a resident of Dufur since 1973, died Jan. 27 in a Portland hospital. He was born March 21, 1915 at The Dalles. Mr. Moe lived in Portland from 1941 until 1973 when he retired. He was the founder of the W. G. Moe & Sons Construction Company in Portland, and a member of Peninsula Lodge IOOF. He was also a 30-year member of the Gresham Elks Club, and the Wally Byam Caravan Club. Many of the Wally Byam rallies were held at his ranch near Dufur. Surviving are his wife, Harriet, Dufur; two sons, William and Charles Moe, Portland; a brother, the Rev. Cecil Moe, Littleton, Colo.; a sister, Betty Mooslin, Eureka, Calif., and seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Jan. 30 at Smith Callaway Chapel with Pastor Asa Jenson, and the Rev. George Trobough officiating. Private interment followed at the Henderson Pioneer Cemetery in Dufur. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Capps, Bob Bradford, Bob Mitchell, R. L. Spencer, Fred Boruck and John D. Slusher. Active bearers were James Butley, Robert G. Lewis, Ronald and Rick Larie, George Biddle and Charles Runey. The family suggests contributions to the Diabetes Foundation or the Dufur Ambulance Fund in care of Smith Callaway Chapel.
