Surnames: Mode, Jones, Walton, Walston, Hood, May Sarah C. "Sally" Mode, 88, a former resident of Dufur (Oregon), died on January 25, 2003 in Madras (Oregon). She was born in Dufur on January 22, 1915 to Thomas and Maggie Jones. She graduated from Dufur High School in 1935 and attended beauty school. She married Levin Walton in 1937. They were later divorced and she married Charles Mode in 1945. They operated a dairy farm in Clackamas (Oregon) and came to Eagle Creek (Oregon) in January of 1948 where they continued dairying. They sold the dairy and she operated by Barton Beauty Shop in her home in Barton (Oregon) and retired in 1989. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and grew produce. Survivors include her daughters, Neva Walston, Maupin (Oregon); and Karen Hood, Apache Junction, Arizona; a son, Tomas Robert Mode, Eagle Creek; a sister, Blodwell May, Dufur; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A graveside service was held on February 1 at Forrester Cemetery in Eagle Creek. Estacada Funeral Chapel was in care of arrangements.
