The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 15, 1988
Lloyd L. Mitchell, 69, died Jan. 6 in The Dalles.  He was a resident of 
Wishram for 24 years.

Mr. Mitchell was born March 18, 1917.  He worked for Burlington Northern as a 
conductor for 39 years.  He was married to Silva Peterson in 1960 in Reno, and 
enjoyed carpentry and remodeling.  He was a member of the United 
Transportation Union, a member of Star and Circle Square Dance Club in The 
Dalles.

He is survived by his wife, Silva P. Mitchell of Wishram; a son Ronald Lloyd 
Mitchell of Gilbert, Ariz.; a daughter, Lois S. Mitchell Simnacher of 
Portales, N.M.; an adopted son, Lawrence L. Mitchell; stepson, David Busch; 
three sisters; three brothers; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and 
nephews.

A memorial service was held at Smith Callaway Chapel on Jan. 8 officiated by 
Pastor Terry Woodruff.  Donations are suggested to the American Lung 
Association of Oregon.
