The Dalles Chronicle, March 10, 2005
     Mary Rebecca Minor, 97, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care 
facility on Monday, March 7, 2005.
     She was born Aug. 31, 1907 in Bogue, Kansas, the 10th of 12 children to 
Allan and Elsie K. (Campbell) McDaniel. She was raised on the family farm in 
Bogue.
     She married Earl Maxwell Minor in 1924 in Hills City, Kansas. In the late 
20’s, they moved to Hood River County. She worked with the Diamond Fruit 
Company for many years and moved to The Dalles in November 1999 to be near 
family. 
     She enjoyed spending time with her family, the outdoors and gardening.
     She is survived by her son, Dick and his wife, Pat Minor, Tucson, Ariz.; 
five grandchildren, Allan Minor, Hillsboro; Linda and her husband, John 
Ripplinger, The Dalles; Pam and her husband, Gene Matteucci, South Lake Tahoe, 
Calif.; Debbie and her husband, George Fischer, Cascade Locks; Becky and her 
husband, Ed Schwiman, Coos Bay; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister Ora Gray, 
Hill City, Kansas. 
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1970; one son, Norman 
in 1965; sisters Sadie Glessner in 1976; Josie Ellis in 1990; and Nola Miles 
in 1997, and eight brothers.
     Private family memorial services and inurnment will be held at Mt. View 
Cemetery in Hood River at a later date. Cremation was held at The Dalles Win-
quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of 
arrangements.
