She was born Feb. 13, 1921, in The Dalles, the youngest of four children to Alexander Scott and Ina Sara (Morgan) Milne. She attended school in The Dalles and was valedictorian of the high school class of 1939. While in high school, she was Grand Worthy Advisor in The Rainbow Girls for Eastern Oregon. She attended Oregon State College for a year before she moved to Washington, D.C., and worked for the Department of War just prior to the Japanese invasion of Pearl Harbor. She returned home for a short time then moved to Chicago and worked for Booz Allen & Hamilton, an engineering consulting firm. She worked for Booth and Kelly in The Dalles from 1948 to 1952. She married Henry Garner of Centerville on May 8, 1949, in The Dalles, and lived in Goldendale until 1958. She worked at the Klickitat County Court House in Goldendale. The family moved to Portland in 1958, where she worked for the Lloyd Corporation (Lloyd Center) until 1960. She lived in Eugene, for six months, before moving to Spokane, in 1960, where she lived until settling in the Portland area in 1967. She divorced Henry Garner in 1976 and married Ira Bobo in 1981. She worked for the Beaverton school district administration office and later Aloha High School from 1968 to 1978. She worked for Northwest Textbook Depository in Tualatin from 1978 to 1991. She enjoyed playing bridge and vacationing on Priest Lake in Idaho. She is survived by her daughter Kay (Garner) Schmidt and her husband, Ron, Cosmopolis, Wash.; grandchildren, Courtney Schmidt, Aberdeen, Wash.; and Josh Schmidt, Seattle, Wash.; great granddaughter, Emily and her brother, Ed Milne, Medford; two nieces, Betty Roberts, Escondido, Calif.; and Mary Norrie, Vancouver, Wash.; two nephews, Scott Milne, Bellevue, Wash.; and John Milne, Medford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira, her sister, Sally Bullock; her brother, Scott Milne and her niece, Jane Milne. Private burial was be held at The Dalles 18th Street IOOF Cemetery, and public memorial services will be held at Smith Callaway Chapel at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10.
