The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 29, 1988
     Nellie Evelyn Michaels, 92, died at the hospital Jan. 19.  She had been a 
resident of the area since 1950.
     Mrs. Michaels was born April 1, 1895, in Asotin, Wash.
     She is survived by a son, George H. Michaels of Rufus; a daughter, 
Mildred Swett of The Dalles; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five 
great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, George, 
in 1948.
     Graveside funeral services were held at Parklawn Cemetery officiated by 
the Rev. Truitt Allen.  Memorials are suggested to the Senior Center Memorial 
Fund.  Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
