She was born Feb. 16, 1953, in Seattle, the oldest of five children to Dean Byron and Lois Ellen (Miller) Gibbs. She grew up in the Seattle area and later moved to Duvall, Wash. In 1971, she graduated from Tolt High School in Carnation, Wash. She worked many years in the Seattle area. Also during that time, she helped her Uncle Lyle and family build a 40-foot sail boat, and soon after, sailed up and down the Pacific Coast. She then moved to Dufur and worked as a city recorder in the early 80’s and was also a bus driver for Dufur School. She met Ronald G. Meyers at a Dufur dance class and they later married on April 5, 1986, in The Dalles. She then moved to Wamic after they were married, where she worked at Wamic Elementary as a secretary. Her most current working position was at The Dalles Mid-Columbia Council of Governments as a payroll clerk. She loved children and was a caring mentor for many. She enjoyed her home in Pine Hollow and loved spending time outdoors with her flowers and plants. She is survived by her husband, Ron Meyers, The Dalles; her daughter, Kaitlynn Rose Meyers, The Dalles; her exchange student son, Stephen Hilldebrand, Germany; her brothers, Gary and his wife, Elaine Gibbs; Larry Gibbs, all of Duvall; Byron and his wife, Marie Gibbs, Snohomish, Wash.; her sister, Melodie and her husband, Danny Loveless, Montana; her father, Dean Gibbs; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Meyers, Dufur; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Minyard, Portland; Nola Meyers and Lisa Meyers, both of Milwaukie; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois in 1991 and her father-in-law, Gilbert Meyers in 1995. Memorial services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, with Asa Jenson officiating. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
