Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 30, 2006, 9:49 pm The Dalles Chronicle, August 25, 2006 Rose Maxine Meyers, 75, a resident of Tygh Valley, died in Gladstone on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006. She was born on May 26, 1931 in Cortez, Colo. the eighth of eleven children to Frederick and Ida (Carver) Koppenhafer. She was raised in Cortez, Colo. and attended school in Cortez, Colo. and Sandy. On November 3, 1954, she married Gilbert Meyers in White Salmon, Wash. They made their home in Tygh Valley. She enjoyed life taking care of her children, husband and home. Later, she looked forward to each grandchild’s arrival. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Meyers and Kenneth Meyers and his ex- wife Barbara Meyers; her daughters, Patricia Minyard and her husband Warren, Nola Burke and her husband James, and Lisa Meyers; her grandchildren, Michael Minyard and his wife Gina, Heather and Justin Meyers, Rachel and Megan Minyard, Kaitlynn Meyers, Tyler Meyers, Raechael and Kierin Burke; great grandchildren, Mikayla and Hailey Minyard and another on the way; her sisters Freda Dilly and Shirley Dyal and her brothers, Fred and Alvin Koppenhafer. She was preceded in death by her husband in November 1995; her children, Debra and Michael Meyers; her parents, Fred and Ida Koppenhafer; her sisters, Thelma Weldon, Opal Niles, Hazel Turner and Alice Bateman and her brothers, Gene Miller and John Koppenhafer. Also deceased is Valerie Meyers, wife of Rose’s son, Ronald Meyers and mother of their daughter Kaitlynn Meyers. At her request there will be no services. A burial of her remains will be held at a later date at Lone Pine Cemetery in Wamic. Cremation was held at Win-Quatt crematory in The Dalles with Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations are made to your charity of choice.
