The Dalles Chronicle, July 26,   2006
     William “Bill” Gene Mead, 76, a resident of The Dalles, died at his home 
on Sunday, July 23, 2006.

     He was born in Prineville, on Oct. 9, 1929, the oldest of three children 
to William A. and Loretta M. (Delco) Mead. He was raised in The Dalles where 
he attended school.

     He married Colleen Virginia Moore in Goldendale on Aug. 21, 1947.
 
     He worked in construction and has lived in The Dalles for 35 years. He 
enjoyed his family, camping, traveling and being with friends. 

     He is survived by his wife, Colleen Mead, The Dalles; his children, Karen 
Mead, Gresham; Gary and Konnie Stephens and Scott and Kelly Feigitsch, all of 
The Dalles; seven grandchildren, Bill Fehrs, Justin Brace, Tommy Brace, Jack 
Stephens, Shawn Stephens, Kati Jo Davis and Kelli Stephens; his brother, 
Robert Mead and his sister, Sandy Snow, both of The Dalles. He was preceded in 
death by his daughter, Kathy Philpot.

     Viewing visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, from noon to 7 p.m. 
and on Saturday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spencer, Libby and 
Powell Funeral Home.

     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, at 1 p.m. at Spencer, 
Libby and Powell Chapel.

     Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The 
Dalles, OR 97058.
