Evelyn Helen Macnab, 66, a resident of Wasco for 43 years, died at the 
hospital on Sunday after an extended illness.

She was born April 9, 1922 at Ferdinand, Idaho to Albert J. and Emma C. (Weis) 
Zodrow.  The family moved to The Dalles in 1936.

She attended and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1940.  After graduation 
she worked at the U.S. National Bank until 1945.

She married Stuart Macnab at St. Peter Catholic Church on Dec. 27, 1945.  They 
have lived and farmed in the Wasco area ever since.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Wasco; St Mary’s Altar 
Society, serving as past president and secretary-treasurer for many years.  
She was active with many civic fund raising projects.

Survivors include her husband, Stuart, Wasco; two sons, Bill, Tualatin, and 
Mike, Lake Oswego; four daughters, Diane Cunningham, Klamath Falls; Sharon St. 
John, McMinnville; Rita Nelson, San Francisco; Carol Denney of Portland; three 
granddaughters, Clarissa, April and Megan; her mother, Emma Zodrow, The 
Dalles; a brother, Harold Zodrow, Sherwood; a sister, Marilyn Ciranny, The 
Dalles.

Recitation of the rosary will be tonight at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral 
Home at 7:30.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. 
Peter Catholic Church in The Dalles, with the Rev. Richard Conway as 
celebrant.  Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.  Casketbearers 
will be Fred Hill, Tom, Pete and George Macnab, Jack Lloyd and Pete Gothro.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s School Foundation or the American Cancer 
Society in care of Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home.
