The Dalles Weekly Reminder, April 5, 1984
Lois F. McCown, 89, a resident of The Dalles since 1946 and a former resident 
of Dufur, died at a local nursing home March 31.

She was born Sept. 9, 1894 at Wamic.

She was a member of the Azalea Rebekah Lodge and the Old Wasco County Pioneer 
Association.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Verl and Charlotte, Dufur; a 
daughter, Mrs. Gilla Becker, The Dalles; five grandchildren and 11 great-
grandchildren.  Her husband, James died earlier.

Private graveside services were Tuesday at the Dufur Community Cemetery with 
Pastor Asa Jenson officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Dufur Ambulance Fund.
