The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 1, 1987
Katie Elizabeth McCorkle, 95, died April 22 at a local nursing home.  She was 
a resident of Maupin all her life.

Mrs. McCorkle was born Oct. 25, 1891, in Maupin.  She was a member of the 
Maupin Evangelical Community Church and a past member of the Lone Pine 
Grange.  Her husband, Calvin, preceded her in death in 1986.

She is survived by two sons, Milton McCorkle and Kenneth McCorkle of Maupin; 
five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Maupin Evangelical Community Church, officiated by 
Pastor Steve Hopper.  Burial was at Kelly Cemetery.  Smith Callaway Chapel was 
in charge of arrangements.
