    Cheri McAllister, 84, a former resident of The Dalles, died in Mapleton on 
Sept. 13 of age-related causes.

    She was born in Maupin on March 19, 1922 to James C. and Julia Pratt.

    The Pratt family moved to The Dalles in 1930. 

    She graduated from The Dalles High School in 1940 and during World War II 
she was employed by a wheat-purchasing firm in Portland.

    She lived most of her life in The Dalles. 

    In 1946 she married Tom McAllister and lived in the house they built on 
East 18th Street, raising their three children.

    In 1991 they moved to Mapleton to live with their son, Mike and his family.
Her husband died in 1993 and she lived in Mapleton the rest of her life.
Her interests over the years included family, knitting, crossword puzzles, 
piano, church choir, reading, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and family card games.

    She served the Evangelical Church in The Dalles for 25 years as secretary 
and treasurer.

    She is survived by three children, Mike McAllister, Mapleton; Randy 
McAllister, The Dalles; and Roxanne Reynolds, Corvallis; nine grandchildren 
and 11 great-grandchildren. 

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy, and one brother, Loyal 
Pratt.

     Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, at The 
Dalles Evangelical Church at East 12th and G streets.

    A graveside service for family only will be held at 10 a.m. at the Odd 
Fellow Cemetery.

    Memorials may be made to The Dalles Evangelical Church.

    Burns Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home in Florence is in care of 
arrangements.
