The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 22, 1988
Maude M. McAfee, 85, died Jan. 15 in a local nursing home.  She lived in The 
Dalles since 1985.

Mrs. McAfee was born in Millidgeville, Georgia, Oct. 27, 1902.  She was a 
graduate of Georgia State College for Woman in 1922 with a degree in 
education.  She married Robert Kennedy McAfee in 1923 and they moved to Macon, 
Georgia, where they lived until 1973, when he died.  She was a member of 
Cherokee Heights Methodist Church, the missionary society, garden club and 
several bridge clubs.

She is survived by a son, Jack L. McAfee and daughter-in-law, Lee, of The 
Dalles; five grandchildren, Alison and Jennifer of The Dalles, Robert of 
Corvallis, Julie of Bellville, Ill., Sydney of Bitburg, Germany; six great-
grandchildren including Jeffery and Isaak of The Dalles; one great-great-
grandchild; four sisters; two brothers.

Graveside services were held at Riverside Cemetery in Macon. Smith Callaway 
Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.
