He was born Oct. 24, 1911 in Condon. He and his wife, Flona, were married Feb. 10, 1935, in Heppner. He worked in The Dalles as a carpenter and for many years was employed by Mid- State Construction Co. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in The Dalles and Carpenter's Union Local 1896. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Kuhnhausen, Nehalem; and Gary Anne Stanfield, West Richland, Wash.; seven grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd May, Sierraville, Calif., and John May, The Dalles; and four sisters, Mabel Nichols, Newport; Glady Schlerchert, Estacada; Viola Cook, Vancouver, Wash., and Gertrude Parker, Portland. A son, William Keith May, died in 1972. Graveside funeral services were Friday at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery, with the Rev. Egerton Long officiating. Pallbearers were Cy Grady, Bill Frantz, Elmer Buskuhl, Delos Churchill, Walt Scott and Jeff Stanfield. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
