The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 1, 1984
     Clara Lucinda Martin, 87, a resident of The Dalles area for the past 70 
years, died Monday at her home.

     She was born Jan. 5, 1897 in River View, Minn.

     She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers.

     Survivors include two sons, John Martin of Maupin and Roy Martin of 
Arlington; two daughters, Vivian Nichols of The Dalles, and Gloria Stokes of 
Portland; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, four great-great-
grandchildren; one brother, George Gison, Redmond; and two sisters, Irene 
Wickham, of Oregon City and Sarah Landis of Milwaukie.

     Graveside funeral services were today at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.  
Pallbearers were Willard Stokes, Darwin Brice, Jan Huxel, and Donald, Daniel 
and Michael Martin.  Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of 
arrangements.

     Memorials are suggested to the Oregon Heart Association.
