Lucille Alice Martin, a resident of Wamic, died Thursday, July 20, 1995 at her 
home.  She was 78.

Mrs. Martin was born June 6, 1926 in Eufaula, OK., the second of six children 
to Dennis James and Della Taylor.  She was raised in Morris, OK. and graduated 
from high school there in 1935.

She married Ward Elton Martin on Feb. 3, 1935 in Okteehall, OK and the couple 
moved to the Dalles in 1936, and then to Wamic in 1946.

Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting, as 
well as spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Wamic 
Community Church.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ward Elton Martin of Wamic; two 
daughters:  Dolores Irwin of Gladstone; Barbara Uttke of Ketchikan, Alaska; 
three sons:  Elton Leroy Martin of Metlakatla, Alaska; Dale Martin, Parkdale; 
Randy Ward Martin, New Castle, WY.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren 
and a number of special friends.

Viewing visitation will be today from 2-5 p.m. and Monday from 8-10 a.m. at 
Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home.  Graveside funeral services will be held 
Monday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at the IOOF Cemetery in The Dalles with Rev. 
Michael Smith officiating.

Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
