The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 7, 1983
     Margaret Ruby MacKay, 74, a resident of The Dalles for 27 years, died 
Monday at a local nursing home.
     She was born in Crawford, Neb. on Jan. 23, 1909.
     She worked as a restaurant cook and waitress for many years and was a 
member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
     Survivors include four sons, Keroy Clapham, Sunland, Calif.; James 
Clapham, Missoula, Mont.; Joe Clapham, Barstow, Calif.; and John Clapham, Simi 
Valley, Calif.; six daughters, Mary Lou Clausen, The Dalles; Jean Stanhope and 
Pat Stanhope, both of Amarillo, Tex.; Pam Woodford, The Dalles; Linda 
McNichols, Portland, and Susie Jensen, Enterprise; a sister, Violet Halterman, 
Douglas, Wyo., 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Two other 
children died in 1967.
     Recitation of the rosary was today (Thursday) at Spencer, Libby & Powell 
Funeral Home and mass of Christian Burial is tomorrow (Friday) at 10 a.m. at 
St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry Kirby as celebrant.  Burial will 
be at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
     Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
