The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 19, 1988
Merle Lyon, 73, died Feb. 8, 1988 at the local hospital.  She lived in The 
Dalles for three months.

Mrs. Lyon, born in Ruby Valley, Nevada, was a school teacher at the elementary 
level.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Lyon, The Dalles; David Lyon, Evergreen, 
Colo.; sisters:  Marianne McBride, Wis.; Margane Shair, Reno, Nev.; Gene 
Segerblom, Boulder City, Nevada; one brother:  Vernon Wines, Bishop, Calif.; 
and nine grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Fain 
in 1981.

Memorial services will be held Sat., Feb. 20, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church 
at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. John Langfeldt.  Smith-Callaway Chapel is in 
charge of arrangements.
