The Dalles Chronicle, July 12,   2006
     Fern Blanche Lutje, 79, a resident of The Dalles, died at her home on 
Sunday, July 9, 2006.

     She was born in a farm house near Eldorado Springs, Mo. on April 4, 1927, 
the sixth of eight children to Benjamin Eddie and Myrtle May (Springer) Davis.

     She lived in Missouri until she was one-year-old, then moved with her 
family to Arkansas until she was nine. When she was nine, the family moved to 
Omak, Wash. in the Okanogan County, where she grew up. Later in life she 
earned her GED.

     She has lived in The Dalles since 1970, working as a waitress. She 
married Virgil Adkins in The Dalles in 1972; they later divorced. She married 
Ernest Pishion in 1980; he died in August 2000. She then married Leonard 
Harold Lutje in Goldendale, Wash. on Jan. 30, 2003. 

     She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and she loved her flowers, 
family, sewing, reading and helping others.

     She is survived by her husband, Leonard Lutje, The Dalles; her daughter, 
Janice Marras and her husband Bernie of The Dalles; her sons, Don Denney and 
his wife Jan of Danville, Wash., Robert Denney and his wife Bonnie of Loomis, 
Wash., and her step daughter, Nancy Johnson and her husband Raymond Trevor of 
Wisconsin; eight grand children; eleven great-grand children; five step grand 
children and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 
parents and six brothers and sisters.

     Viewing visitation will be on Saturday, July 15 at Spencer, Libby & 
Powell Funeral Home. 

     Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral 
Home with burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery on Three Mile Road.

     Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The 
Dalles, OR 97058.
