The Dalles Chronicle, March 7, 2006
     Maxine Lorenzen, 86, died on Feb. 15, 2006 in Bend.
     She was born Oct. 26, 1919 to Helen and John Bowen in Anselmo, Neb.
She married George Lorenzen and they lived in Montana, Wyoming and Texas 
before settling in La Grande, where they lived for more than 50 years. She 
moved to Bend in 1993.
     She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church, Blue Mountain 
Gem Club and the Tri-Mountain Good Sam Club. She enjoyed crochet, reading, 
working puzzles and being with her family.
     Survivors include her son and his wife, Terry and Marlene Lorenzen, 
Sunriver; daughterin- law, Linda Lorenzen, The Dalles; five grandchildren, 
Brad Lorenzen, Eugene; Steve Welch, Salem; Doug Welch, Salem; Lisa Albrecht, 
The Dalles; and Jeff Lorenzen, Hood River; five great-grandchildren, including 
Kathleen and Jake Albrecht, The Dalles and Fiona Lorenzen, Hood River.
     Her husband, George, died in 1989; a daughter, Jan, in 1981 and a son, 
Jay, in 1995.
