The Dalles Weekly Reminder, August 23, 1984
One-time Estacada resident Gertrude C. Linde died at a Portland hospital on 
Aug. 9 at the age of 84.

She was born to Emma and Fredrick Laue in Rushville, Neb., on Jan. 27, 1900.

She lived in Nebraska and Minnesota until her marriage to Herman Linde on Jan. 
7, 1922 in Custer. S. D.  They continued living in Custer until December 1943, 
when they moved to Estacada.  In 1954, they  moved to Williams Lake, B. C., 
Canada.  They have also maintained a residence in The Dalles.

Her illness lasted one-and-a-half years.  Those who survive Gertrude are her 
husband, Herman Linde, Williams Lake, B. C.; her children, Fred Linde, Kenneth 
Linde and William Linde, Williams Lake, Irene Randall, Alice Lamb and Delorice 
Hayden, Estacada, Norma Allen, The Dalles, and Clara Anderson, Soldotna, Ak.; 
her sister, Wilma Cook, and her brother, Robert Laue, both of Langlois; 23 
grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was Aug. 13, 1984 at Clayville Funeral Chapel, Estacada, 
with interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.  The Rev. Vernon E. Ross officiated.
