The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 24, 1995
     John Anthony Lepinski, 89, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care 
center on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995.
     He was born Nov. 12, 1906, in Hamburg, Germany, the oldest of eight 
children to Antone and Sophia Lepinski.  As a young child, he moved to Indiana 
for several years before his family settled in Wisconsin.
     He married Frances Eve Pawlak in Lena, Wis. on Feb. 11, 1930.  He was a 
dairy and cattle farmer in Wisconsin until moving to Silverton in 1959.  They 
moved to The Dalles in Sept. 1963.
     He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 
and Cherry Park Grange.  He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening.
     He is survived by his wife, Frances of The Dalles; six sons:  Bernard 
Lepinski of Coleman, Wis., Paul, Tom and Bob Lepinski of The Dalles, Bill 
Lepinski of Issaquah, Wash. and Jim Lepinski of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; six 
daughters:  Angline Patenaude of Lena, Wis., Rosella Boettcher of Bonduel, 
Wis., Alice Garrett of Cook, Wash., Joann Fisher of Tamarac, Fla., Joyce Moser 
of Davie, Fla. and Mary Boyd of Portland; numerous grandchildren, great-
grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Julia Swals of Salem.
     Viewing visitation on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17, and 18 at Spencer, 
Libby and Powell Funeral Home.  Recitation of Rosary and Mass of Christian 
Burial at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. 
Ronald Maag as celebrant.  Interment at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
     Memorials:  St. Mary's School Foundation, sent in care of Spencer, Libby 
and Powell Funeral Home, 1100 Kelly Ave., The Dalles.
