He was a resident of Mosier. Mr. Leininger was born on June 11, 1911 in Mosier, and worked as a carpenter and orchardist in the Mosier area for many years. He married his wife Louise on Jan. 7, 1937, in Stevenson, Wash. He was a member of the Hood River Valley Christian Church, the Carpenter's Local 1896, and the Hood River Elks No. 1507. He is survived by his wife Louise, Mosier; a son, Bill, Rockaway; two daughters, Janet, Mosier and Linda, Hebo; two granddaughters, Tera and Christa; two sisters, Martha Bowman, Mount Hood, and May Lee, Beaverton; three brothers, Lawrence, Portland, Ben, Oregon City, and Jim, Milwaukie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home, with Rev. Ric Miller officiating. Private burial followed at Odd Fellows Mausoleum. Pall bearers were Tom Proctor, Robert Gosslee, Marvin Hudson, Claude Berthold, Amos Root, and Daniel Wall. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Assn., or to the Mosier Christian Church.
