Alice Alberta Leimbach Surnames: Leimbach, Apdale, Abercrombie, Blackburn, Frost, Hand, Clairizio Alice Alberta Leimbach, 65, a resident of The Dalles, died Monday February 17, 2003 at her home. She was born September 25, 1937 in White Swan, Washington to Thomas David and Alice Ione (Apdale) Abercrombie and grew up there. She lived in Portland for a number of years, where she worked in poultry processing and commercial laundry services before attending jeweler's school and becoming a jewelry designer. She married George C. Leimbach in The Dalles in 1988 and they made their home here until her death. She enjoyed flower gardening and home remodeling in addition to various arts and crafts. She had been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, The Dalles Second Ward. Survivors include her husband, George, The Dalles; a son, Clifford Blackburn, The Dalles; four daughters, Thais Frost of California, Paula Hand, Eagle Creek (Oregon); Kim Blackburn, The Dalles; and Laura Clairizio, Portland; four brothers and a sister, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. At her request no public services will be held; the family will observe private ceremonies of remembrance in conjunction with the disposition of her ashes. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Dalles, 715 Myrtle Street, The Dalles, OR 97058. Arrangements were by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
