     Jeanne Margaret (Bauer) Laughlin, 93, a former resident of Wamic, died in 
Pendleton on Aug. 28, 2005.
     She was born in Indianapolis, Ind. to J. Edward and Edith Liehr Bauer.
     She graduated from Grant High School in Portland in 1931 and from the 
Oregon Agriculture College, now Oregon State University, in 1935 with a degree 
in education. She was a member of Alpha Rho chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi 
Sorority.
     She taught school in Echo and Boardman for three years before marrying 
E.T. “Ted” Laughlin on April 2, 1938 in Dayton.
     After he was discharged from the Army after World War II, he worked for 
the Oregon Fish & Wildlife Department and for many years managed the Game 
commission Farm at White River near Wamic with her help.
     Both of them loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and riding in the 
Wallowa and Cascade Mountains. They lived in Echo and Enterprise as well as 
Wamic.
     She was an avid reader.
     Survivors include two nieces, Charlotte Laughlin Berry, Echo, and Leslie 
Laughlin Kennedy, Ventura, Calif., and a nephew, Richard “Dick” Laughlin, Lake 
Oswego; and many great nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
     At her request, there will be no funeral service or memorial service. 
Disposition was by cremation.
     Memorials may be made to the Oregon Trail Arboretum of Echo Public 
Library, c/o City of Echo, P.O. Box 9, Echo, OR 97826.
     Arrangements are in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton.
