The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 10, 1983
     Mrs. Ruth E. Laramie, 85, a resident of The Dalles for the past year and 
before that a lifetime resident of Chehalis-Centralia area of Washington, died 
Nov. 7 at the hospital following a brief illness.
     She was born Aug. 15, 1898 at Centralia.
     She was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church in Chehalis and was 
a Gold Star Mother.
     Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ed (Arlie) Garthe, The Dalles; four 
grandchildren, Lee Anne Bowie Locke, Seattle; Gaynell Tsukamaki, Kailua, 
Hawaii; Jerily Walker, Portland, and Dean Garthe, The Dalles; two great-
grandchildren and two brothers, Milton Sayre, Van Nuys, Calif., and Eugene 
Sayre, Portland.
     Graveside services were today at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery with the Rev. 
James Hazlett officiating.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of 
arrangements.
