The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 17, 1983
     Bartow Landers, 89, a resident of Tygh Valley since 1946, died Nov. 11 in 
Boring.
     He was born Nov. 5, 1894 in Wayland, Tex.
     Mr. Landers was a farmer all of his life and lived in Silverton from 1953 
to 1966 before moving back to Tygh Valley.
     He was a World War I veteran having served with the U.S. Army.  He was a 
member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
     Survivors include two daughters, Jean Kuhlman, Tygh Valley, and Loyce 
Murray, Boring, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
     Funeral services were today at the Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton.  
Burial followed at Valley View Cemetery in Silverton.
