Wakley iwakley@msn.com May 8, 2006, 1:51 am The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 15, 1983 Lewis A. LaFoe, 85, a resident of The Dalles since 1935, died Saturday at a local nursing home. He was born Aug. 19, 1898 in Pilliager, Minn. Mr. LaFoe was a member of the Latter-Day Saints Church and American Legion Post No. 19 in The Dalles. Survivors include a son, Louis (Lucky) LaFoe, The Dalles; a daughter, Juanita Vetter, Tronta, Calif.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Betty White, The Dalles, and a stepson, Gordon Broadbent, Everett, Wash. Funeral services were Tuesday at Smith Callaway Chapel with Bishop Wallace Telford and Pastor Ronald Keyser officiating. Burial services were in the veteran's section of The Dalles IOOF Cemetery. Casketbearers were Dick Hammer, Barry Labrum, Lynn Mulkins, Harry Abrams, Harry Ketchun and Carl Froebe.
