The Dalles Chronicle, September 11, 2006
     Philip Arnold LaDouceur, 74, a resident of The Dalles, died Sept. 7 at a 
local care facility.

     He was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Bend, the second of four children to Frank 
and Violet (Woods) LaDouceur. He moved to Hood River in 1962 until his 
retirement, and after retirement lived in Mosier, Pine Hollow, and The Dalles.

     An auto mechanic, he was service manager of a Ford dealership for many 
years before opening his own auto repair business in Hood River. He was a past 
member of the Elks Lodge, past member of the Hood River County Sheriff’s 
reserve, and enjoyed flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, hunting, camping, 
and panning for gold.

     He is survived by his sons: Gene LaDouceur and wife Chris; Ron LaDouceur; 
Tim LaDouceur and wife Carolyn, all of The Dalles; two granddaughters: 
Tennille Dunn and her husband Ken, The Dalles; Katie LaDouceur, Eugene; three 
grandsons: Ryan LaDouceur and wife Monica, Hillsboro; David LaDouceur and Mike 
LaDouceur, both of The Dalles; great-grandson Will Dunn, The Dalles; several 
nieces and nephews; and special friends Rod Berthold and David Peyton. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

     A private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-Quatt Crematory, with 
Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

     Memorials may be made to Home At Last Animal Shelter.
