The Dalles Chronicle, July 3, 2005
     Sarah Jane Lackey, 83, a resident of Harrisburg and former resident of 
Moro, died June 29, 2005, of age-related causes.
     She was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Reedsport to Louis and Eva (Nixon) 
Thompson. 
     She also lived in Sweet Home, Enterprise and Astoria. She owned and 
operated a beauty shop and later became a real estate agent.
     In 1973, she married Roscoe Lackey in Salem.
     She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star and enjoyed gardening and 
collecting dolls. Her grandchildren were a big part of her life.
     She is survived by her sons, Tom White, Harrisburg, and Mike White, 
Joseph.
     She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985. 
     Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Murphy-Musgrove 
Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 
at 2 p.m. at Alford Cemetery. 
     Memorial contributions may be made to Astor Elementary School Library 
Fund, 3500 Franklin, Astoria, OR 97103.
