The Dalles Chronicle, March 15, 1988
     Elsie Lee Knox, 94, a resident of Wasco County since 1921, died at a 
local nursing home on Monday.

     She was born April 9, 1893 in Surgoinsville, Tenn. to Allen and Sarah 
(Christian) Anderson.

     She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in The Dalles.

     Survivors include a son, Glenn E. Knox, Des Moines, Wash.; a daughter, 
Mrs. Owen (Esther) Magill, Wamic; three grandchildren, John Magill, Wamic; 
Gary Knox and Beverly Knox Olson, both of Bakersfield, Calif.; 10 great-
grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and two half brothers, Capt. 
Elmer Anderson and Walter Anderson, both of Ellensburg, Wash.

     Funeral services will be at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral home on 
Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Byron Clark officiating.  Burial will follow 
at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.

     Memorials may be made to the Nazarene Church Memorial Fund.
