     Leo M. Knoll, 84, a resident of The Dalles, died at his residence on 
Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005.
     He was born April 21, 1920, in Bismark, N.D., the oldest of 13 children 
to George and Philomina (Dworshak) Knoll. He grew up in Baldwin, N.D., and 
attended schools in Bismark.
     Leo served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. In WWII, 
he served along with the Calvary with horses. He worked for the railroad for 
30 years as a switchman until his retirement.
     He was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church and enjoyed horses, 
camping and growing sprouts.
     Leo is survived by his loving wife, Cynda Knoll, of Trout Lake, who he 
married on Aug. 31, 1984, in Springfield, Mo.; his four children, Zarah, 
Zachary, Twila and Riyyah Knoll, all of Trout Lake; his step-sons, Billy 
Lawson, Jacksons Gap, Ala., and Wade Lawson, Springfield; his siblings, 
Paulina, Anna, Elenore, Catherine, Josephine, Eugene and Richard.
He was preceded in death by Paul, Rosemary, Raymond, Lily (Lillian) and Lorane.
     Memorial services will be held at Mt. Adams Baptist Church, 2366 Hwy 141, 
in Trout Lake at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005.
     Military services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on 
Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt 
Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
     Memorial contributions may be made to Oregon Veterans' Home Trust Fund, 
700 Veterans' Drive, The Dalles, OR 97058.
