    Charles C. Kitchel, 77, a resident of Eugene (Oregon) for 50 years, died on 
November 18, 2002, of age-related causes.
    He was born February 2, 1925, in Dee (Oregon) to Clifford and Elizabeth
Kitchel. 
    He attended college at the University of Oregon and was in the U.S. Air Force
from 1943 to 1946.
    He was in the lumber business. He enjoyed golfing, as well as Oregon Duck 
athletics and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and the Eugene Country
Club.
    Survivors include sons, Scott H. Kitchel, Eugene, and Dirk J. Kitchel, 
Charleston, South Carolina; a daughter, Jenness M. Roth, Memphis, Tennessee;
and a sister, Iva Orme, Eugene; and seven grandchildren.
    Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 23, at 10 a.m. at Musgrove 
Family Center in Eugene.
    Private inurnment will follow.
    Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in care of arrangements.
