     Dorothy “Connie” Naomi Kiser, 73, a resident of The Dalles, died at her 
home on Monday, May 23, 2005.
     She was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Buena, Wash., the oldest of three children 
to Floyd and Pearl Powers. She grew up in the Yakima Valley and Hood River, 
moved to The Dalles in the mid-1940’s and attended The Dalles High School.
     She married Harold James Kiser on March 2, 1950, in Goldendale. She was a 
homemaker and had also worked as a waitress at Johnny’s Café during the 
construction of The Dalles Dam. 
     She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed her grandchildren, 
knitting, crocheting, reading and her cats, Wally, Dolly and the family dog, 
Pearl.
     She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harold Kiser; her children 
and their spouses, Anthony and Judy Kiser, Courtney Kiser, Brenda and Kent 
Kramer and Rebecca Kiser, all of The Dalles; grandchildren, Bret, Sara, Renee, 
Jenny, Doug, Josh, Justin, Matt, Dan and Megan; 14 great grandchildren; her 
brother, William and his wife, Nola Conner, The Dalles; her sister, Susan 
Searing, Lynnwood, Wash.; her son-in-law, Tim Mears, The Dalles; numerous 
nieces, nephews, and extended family.
     Graveside services will be held at IOOF Cemetery on Cherry Heights Road 
at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, with Pastor Dorthy Nielsen officiating.      
Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
