The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 8, 1987
William D. Ketchum, 80, died at home in The Dalles Jan. 29, 1987.  He was 
lifetime resident of The Dalles, born here on March 10, 1906.

Mr. Ketchum was a graduate of Oregon State University.  He married Lucile 
Porter of Vancouver, Wash., on Oct. 26, 1935.  He was director of the Federal 
Land Bank in The Dalles for 23 years, and was a member of the First United 
Methodist Church, Chenowith Grange, Farm Bureau and Wasco County Cattlemen's 
Association.  He was member of the Chenowith District 9 School Board for many 
years.

He is survived by his wife, Lucile, of The Dalles; two sons, William P. and 
Harry R. Ketchum of The Dalles; a daughter, Katherine Dauenhauer of Bainbridge 
Island, Wash.; five grandchildren, William M. and Matthew F. Ketchum of The 
Dalles, Kim Ketchum of Phoenix, Ariz., and Christina and Jeffery Dauenhauer of 
Bainbridge Island; one sister, Adelaide Reed of The Dalles; a nephew, James 
Reed of The Dalles.

Services were held at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry 
Tanquist officiating.  The family suggest remembrances be contributions to the 
Mid-Columbia Hospice or Methodist Church Wilson Endowment Fund.  Smith 
Callaway is in charge of arrangements.
