Kaser, a lifelong resident of The Dalles, died at her home on Fifteenmile Creek Road Fri., Feb. 12. She was 67. Mrs. Kaser was born in Wasco, Ore., Aug. 30, 1920. She graduated from The Dalles High School in 1938 and graduated from The Dalles Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She worked as a nurse at The Dalles General Hospital from 1943 to 1944, and then worked at Valley Vista Nursing Home from 1966 to 1969, Mid-Columbia Medical Center from 1969 to 1973. She was the bookkeeper for the Kaser ranch for many years. She was a member of The Dalles Art Association, Hood River Art Association, The Dalles Camera Club, Sierra Club, Audubon Society, National Humane Society, 1000 Friends of Oregon. She was serving on Columbia Basin Nursing Home Advisory Board and was the longtime superintendent of the open class art exhibits at the Wasco County Fair. She was active in the Wasco County Republican Party. She was woman of the year in 1966 and had special interests in wildlife preservation, poetry, art and photography. She is survived by her husband, Carl Kaser, whom she married in 1942 in Portland; a son, Phillip M. Kaser, The Dalles; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Brook) Remington, The Dalles; Mrs. Robert (Erin) Smith, Wenatchee, Wash.; five grandchildren, Amy and Jeffrey Kaser, The Dalles; Amanda and Charlie Remington, The Dalles and Janelle Smith, Wenatchee; a half-sister Betty Regan, Petaluma, Calif. Funeral services were held Feb. 16 at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Thornton Gapen and Dr. B. Frank Moss officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Mid-Columbia Health Foundation. Spencer, Libby & Powell was in charge of arrangements.
